We are looking for working musicians and singers for our show band.
We book private parties, casinos, etc. We play dance, disco, funk, soul, R&B, and rock & roll from 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and today. Artists we cover include Bee Gees, Chaka Kahn, James Brown, The Trammps, B-52's, The O'jays, Diana Ross, En Vogue, The Temptations, Maroon 5, Tower of Power, Jamiroquoi, etc. We only play danceable up tempo stuff with only the occasional slow tune if it suits the mood. We are dedicated to providing a nonstop party experience for our audience.
Low stage volume is paramount to providing the best experience for our audience. For this reason musicians will be required to use inner ear monitors provided by us. Upon initiating contact, we will fill you in on other 'volume police' rules. If you think you will have trouble with inner ear monitors and/or stage volume, then this probably isn't the show for you. But I guarantee you become accustomed to it, and most musicians I have worked with tell me they will never go back to using wedges (myself included!).
Look forward to one night a week minimum, and up to three or four nights a week in peak season.
Pays $125 per night standard.
The following positions are needed:
Female singers: Must sing lead and harmony, dance choreography as well as improvise, have great stage presence. Looking good in a dress is a plus!
Male singer/guitarist: must sing lead and harmony, read chord charts, dance, have great stage presence, have good quality road worthy gear. Reading sheet music a plus. PLEASE OWN A TUNER!
Keyboard player: sing harmony if required, read chord charts, have good quality road worthy gear. Reading sheet music a plus. Carrying two keyboards a plus. Vocoder a definite plus.
Horns: Our ideal horn section consists of trumpet, tenor/alto interchangeable sax, baritone sax, trombone. However, we will gladly divert from this 'ideal' if we need to depending on interest.
